Obituary of Catherine J. Washington

Catherine J. (Myers) Washington, 58, of Camillus passed away Thursday. She was a 1970 graduate of Corcoran High School. She was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area. Those who knew her know that she devoted her entire life to caring for others. Catherine worked at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center for 15 years as an LPN. She took time off to be home with her youngest daughter. She returned to the workforce at Medical Registry of CNY. Then she rejoined the St. Joe's family in their Hospital Home Care Department. She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Myers of FL, and her brother Robert Myers of Syracuse. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, William F. Washington of Camillus; father, William J. Myers of FL; daughters, Amy and Meaghan Washington; step daughter, Michelle McBride all of Syracuse; 3 step sons, Michael (Melinda) Washington of TN, Mark (Audrey) Washington of Washington, DC, Matthew (Timeka) Washington of MD; 9 beloved grandchildren, Stefan, Danielle, MeKayla, McKenzie, Marcus, Jaylon, Chloe, Tremayne, and Jada; Several siblings including 4 brothers, William R. Myers and Patrick J. Myers of Syracuse, James C. Myers of IL, and John J, Myers of FL; 4 sisters, Theresa (Myers) Bayeur and Mary Myers of Rochester, Deborah Colt of England, and Donna Myers of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church, 318 Herkimer St., Syracuse. Burial will be private for family in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
