Obituary of Joan M. Olin

Joan Olin, 83, joined her lifetime love, Harvey, in Heaven, on February 23, 2023. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family. Joan was born on September 15, 1939 in Syracuse, NY, to parents Mary Jane and Joseph Scott. She worked for the West Genesee CSD, and then for Onondaga County. She loved to go shopping and vacation in Arizona with her family. Joan’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Joan is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Harvey, and her sister Barbara.

She is survived by her children Michael (Kathy), Cathleen (Tim) Spencer, David, Mark, and Richard (Jennifer). Joan is also survived by her sisters Rosemary (Joseph) DeGenarro and Susan (Dougal) Armstrong and brothers James (Amy) Scott and Joseph (Brenda) Scott. Joan was a proud grandma to 7 grandchildren and “GG” to 10 great-grandchildren.

Services: Calling hours will be 4 to 7pm Friday March 3, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St., Syracuse. Graveside service 10:30am Saturday March 4, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
