Obituary of Charles H. Umbrecht Jr.

Charles H. Umbrecht Jr., (Charlie) 86, of Westvale and Montario Point, passed away peacefully October 8th at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse to parents Charles H. Umbrecht, and Ruth Knox Umbrecht and grew up in Fayetteville, NY. He graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School, and St. Lawrence University. He graduated valedictorian from Albany Law School, and was an outstanding real estate attorney at Hancock Estabrook Law Firm in Syracuse until his retirement in 2000.

Charlie was a prolific reader and loved spending time at his family camp with his family and loving canine companions.

He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Green Umbrecht, and grandson, Jonathan Haws. 

Survivors include daughters Martha (David) Winne of Liverpool, NY, and Amy (Michael) Haws of South Portland, ME, and grandson Matthew Haws of Saratoga Springs, NY. He is also survived by sister Anna (Richard) Ganz of Phoenix, NY.

Services: Calling hours will be 4 to 7 pm Friday, October 18, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St., Syracuse. A memorial service will be 11 am Saturday, October 19, at Robinson Elmwood United Church, 126 South Terry Road, Syracuse, NY 13219.
