Obituary of William E. Yager

William E. Yager, Jr. January 29, 2012 William E. Yager Jr., 75, of Lakeland, NY passed away Sunday at home. Born August 30, 1936, in Syracuse he was the son of William and Catherine. Bill was a graduate of Solvay High School and lifelong resident of Lakeland. He served in the US Army Reserve as a Specialist II during the Korean War. Bill was 1st Assistant Chief of Lakeside Volunteer Fire Department and owner of Yagers' Lakeland Garage. He is survived by his children, Christine (Frank) Peverly of Tuxedo, NY, Suzanne (Scott) Hemler of Warners, NY, and William P. (Rita Jutras) Yager of Essex, VT, his brother Robert A. Yager of Lakeland, NY, 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a generous and loving person who was always willing to lend a hand to friends and strangers alike. Those who knew him loved him dearly. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Belle Isle Cemetery.
