Joseph Paussa, Jr. October 29, 2010 Joseph Paussa, Jr., 95, of Eastwood passed away Friday, at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Dolegna, Italy, he came to the US at age six and lived in Solvay. Joe lived in the Eastwood area for over 60 years. He was a supervisor at Syracuse China for 37 years. Joe was very active in bowling, he was past president of the Syracuse Bowling Association, national director for the American Bowling Congress, and Director of the NYS Bowling Association. He was a life member of the Pastimes Athletic Club and communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years Helen B. Schylinski Paussa in 2006. Survivors: son, Joseph M. (Hedy) Paussa of Baldwinsville; sister, Lydia Paussa of Westvale; 3 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Services: 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home Inc., 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of CNY, 5005 Campusway Drive, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or www.cny.wish.org.
