I am not a man of many words, I am very quiet, but I feel the need to express this here...
Sometimes in life we make choices, some are good and some not so good, however they are the choices we believe we need to make at the time. It's not always an easy path when those choices involve family. But no matter what choices were made, there is always an underlying love, because they are your family. You don't always have to like them, Lord knows we don't always do, but if you don't have family, then who do you have?
My Mom and I may not have always seen eye to eye, but I always loved her and I know she loved me, we both did and said things over the almost 57 years she was in my life that weren't always nice, but the love was always there. She was a tough one, very stubborn and strong willed, and I get a lot of that from her, which also makes for a tough relationship, when you are a lot like someone and they see those qualities in themselves, it's not always the best reflection. But then there are many many good times to look back on too.
My Mom and Dad did the best they could with what they had and it wasn't an easy life. I am grateful for both of them. They were good people. We are all human and have faults, not one of us is perfect, not one. But we only have one life and we can choose to hold onto bad feelings/resentments or we can choose to move on and find it in our hearts to forgive. Holding onto hate is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die, it makes you sick, not the other person.
I guess what I am trying to say is, I hope that my entire family is able to move forward and heal, life is too short to not care for each other, we may not always like each other, but we can always try. We have our own busy lives and families, but all 4 of us come from the same place and I hope we can find that common ground again, baby steps.
I love you Mom and even in the last moments we had together there was laughter and I believe that was healing for us. You and Pop are reunited now and hopefully dancing in Heaven, he's playing his Trumpet for you again.
My family and I truly did love you and you were always in our thoughts and hearts.
Much Love,
Mark & Family

Wonderful Joan, friend to Annie and Chris. We will miss her very much. Her beautiful pictures will always hang in their room. She was a wonderful room mate to Annie. She ate everything I baked, even if I thought it wasn't good. Her grandson Ben was the apple of her eye. She always bragged about him, as her other grandchildren. Joan rest in peace.
Always in our hearts
