Obituary of Margery Pernisi

Margery Roder Pernisi, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, November 22, 2017. Born in South Onondaga, Margery resided in Westvale for 68 years in the home she and her husband built. She was a graduate of Onondaga Central High School and worked for several years at Carrier Corporation. She also did volunteer work at Community General Hospital for several years. A devoted wife and mother, Margery enjoyed cooking, the needle arts, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount for 68 years. Margery was predeceased in 2008 by her loving husband Edward. She is survived by their three sons, John (Sharon) Pernisi of Camillus, Edward (Deborah) Pernisi of Camden, NY, and Ronald (Louise) Pernisi of Matthews, NC; a daughter, Patricia (August) Teska of Westvale; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Flora Johnson of Syracuse and Jan Roder of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heart felt thanks to the staff at St. Camillus Day Health and Rehabilitation Units and to Margery's many aides who became her cherished friends. Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY.
