Are you aware how proud you make me every single day?
I watch you grow and find yourself in so many different ways.
You are a precious shining star, unique in all you do.
Your smiles light up my heart and shines on all that's true.
Your funny little ways, I wouldn't change a thing,
The laughter you have given more precious than a ring.
Moments of sorrow often come our way,
But I watch you learn as you struggle to cope while it gets harder everyday.
I feel each pain you feel, wishing I could make it right,
But in my heart knowingness tells me not to hold on too tight.
Remember, everything you've done has helped more than you know,
And in everything you say and do, it begins to show.
I hope the things I've taught you, you will use along the way.
That the burdens that confront you, are short-lived I hope and pray.
When I sit back from life's turmoil and ponder on who you'll be,
I feel so proud in the knowledge that you are part of me.
And as time goes and things get easier, I'll remember all that's passed.
Your life was meant to help someone, that was your greatest task.
Don't think that I'll ever leave you, I'm in every word you speak,
I'm here for you, for anything, in your time of need.
So remember time is precious, as you've learned, each day goes by so fast.
Cherish every second, and this grief too, will soon pass.
