Obituary of Roy J. Miceli

Rosario "Za-Za" Miceli, 99, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 26th, 2017. Mr. Miceli was born in Syracuse on August 15th, 1918, the son of Carmen and Lena Miceli. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps until he joined the US Army in 1941, where he served his country proudly in WW II as a paratrooper. He met the love of his life Virginia (Malfatti) Miceli in Cardiff, Whales and they married in 1947. Gina would predecease him in 2009 after 62 years of marriage. Returning to raise his family, he worked at Allied Chemical as a rigger until his retirement in 1980. He was completely dedicated to his family and a true credit to the "Greatest Generation."
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph and Samuel Miceli, Eleanor Balch, and son-in-law, Larry Beeles.
Survivors: his children, David Miceli of Syracuse and Jean Marie Beeles of Skaneateles. His grandchildren, Cpt. Stephanie Waddell of the US Army and Diana (Dan) Dixie of Camillus. 5 great grandsons, Kaiden, Landon, Brayden, Gavin and Logan. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 10:00 am Friday at St. James Episcopal Church, Skaneateles. Burial with military honors will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 5 to 7p.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY.
