Obituary of Shirley Adsit Waters

Shirley Adsit Waters of Syracuse formerly of Westvale, passed away Wednesday at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Solvay, the daughter of Ralph and Alyce Adsit. Shirley attended Solvay High School and graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA. She married her husband William A. Waters on July 14, 1945. She worked many years as a medical secretary until she retired in 1997. She was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Shirley was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jennifer Anne Waters, and son in law, Francis Strzelec. Survivors: her husband, of 65 years, Bill Waters; son, John (Susan) Waters of Ormond Beach, FL; daughters, Kathleen Strzelec of Hillsborough, NJ, Carol A. Waters of Fairmount; brother, Robert F. Adsit of Baltimore; special friend, Mario Vitale; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tindall Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 1921 W. Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Charles Food Pantry, 417 S.
