Fannie "Fay" DeCarlo July 17, 2010 Fay DeCarlo, 96, formerly of Syracuse, died July 17th in Arlington, VA. She retired as an assembly line worker for General Motors where she was involved in the local UAW. Fay was a 50-year member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, a competitive bowler, a golfer and an avid Yankees fan. Fay will be remembered as a woman of great strength who put her family first and enjoyed a great laugh. She is predeceased by her husband, Nicholas (2005); her son, Nicholas Peter (2009); and brothers: Michael Campolieta (2005) and Patsy Campolieta (1945). Fay is survived by daughter-in-law: Sara DeCarlo of Arlington, VA; grandchildren: Lisa (George) DeCarlo Apollonio of Burlington, KY and their children Elizabeth and Andrew; Nicholas (Sonja) DeCarlo of Arlington, VA and their children Nicholas and Stephen; Mark (Amy) DeCarlo of Annandale, VA and their children Isabella, Olivia and Anastasia; and Katherine DeCarlo of Arlington, VA; sisters: Jenny Herron of Syracuse; Dinny (Stanley) Kowalczyk of Solvay; and Gilda (Ty) Sayles of Lafayette; brother: Joseph (Lois) Campolieta of Fulton; and, numerous nieces and nephews. Services: 9 a.m. Friday at Tindall Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 417 S. Orchard Rd. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be from 5 to 7p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Nicholas P. DeCarlo Scholar Award, c/o Holy Trinity School, 1325 36th Street NW, Washington, DC 20007.
