Obituary of Maureen J. Louer

Maureen J. Louer, 86, of Syracuse, joined her family and many friends in heaven on Monday. Born in Utica, she was a 1949 graduate of the Convent School and Syracuse University in 1953. "Mo" worked her way through school in the family restaurant, Owendale and also at the Kreb's in Skaneateles. Upon graduation, Mo lived and worked in NYC and returned to CNY for a brief career with G.E. Mo's loves in her life were her grandchildren, Don, family, friends, dancing, hosting events and travelling. She was especially fond of her travels to Ireland, with her mother, Peg Owen. Mo's passion for volunteer work was endless, including the St. Lucy's pasta dinner, Christian Brothers Academy fund raisers, and decorating the Church at St. Charles. Survivors: include her children, Mark (Amy), Sheila (Kenneth) Weldon and Matthew; and four beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Kyle, Sarah Jane and William; pre deceased by her husband, Don and brother, Joseph, she is survived by her sister in law, Dorothy Owen and brother, W. Dennis Owen; many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Charles Church, where a Memorial Mass will be celebrated. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Lucy's Church, 432 Gifford St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
