Obituary of Daniel F. Ray

It is with heavy heart that we share that Daniel Fahey Ray, age 63, son of James Francis Ray and Margaret (Peggy) Fahey Ray, succumbed to cancer on Monday, November 30, 2015. Danny was a beloved individual that blessed the lives of so many people. Danny is survived by his wife of over 38 years, Carla Ray, his significant other of the past 9 years, Christel Ellis, his daughters Carriann Ray – Walker, Stephanie Anne Ray – Heath, and Kylee Ray, his sons, Daniel Fahey Ray Jr., and Tucker Ray. Danny's life has also been blessed with the birth of two wonderful grandchildren, Kira Marie Ray and Jagger James Heath. Danny is survived by an exceptional Irish family of brothers and sisters; James Francis Ray, Kevin Joseph Ray, Margaret Mary Ray-McMahon, Denis Matthew Ray, and Mary Lourdes Ray-Lynch. Surviving Danny are eight nieces and nephews, many cousins, step children Faythe Lamay and Laurel Plunkett, and a step- grandson Jalex Lamay. Danny grew up in East Syracuse, New York and graduated from East Syracuse – Minoa High School. He spent his life helping others with his unique talents as a Journeyman Plumber with Onondaga County, Armani, and New Process Gear, to name a few. He loved the outdoors and always found peace in fishing with family and friends. He was a true fan of Notre Dame Football and Syracuse Basketball. Danny's Irish roots played a pivotal role in his life, and he could often be found singing Irish tunes and melodies to his children. Danny was embraced by so many friends and family throughout his entire life and in his final journey he found peace in their presence by his side. It is with heavy heart that we mourn the loss of his life; but, we embrace the power of faith and know that he is no longer suffering. Danny is now in heaven with his mother and father. We can all be grateful that Danny will be watching over us all and smiling down on the generations to come. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew's Church, 100 Kinne St., E. Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY.
