Dorothea "Dorie" Cain May 20, 2010 Dorothea M. "Dorie" Jacobe Cain, 92, of the Valley passed away Thursday at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Fabius High School. She was a beauty school graduate practicing for many years in Fabius. Dorie was a communicant of the Church of St. Michael & St. Peter and remained an active member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was the founder of the Summerfield Village and Wynwood Rosary Groups. Dorie was an accomplished basket weaver and teacher of basket weaving throughout New York State. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond J. Cain in 2002 and her son, Paul Cain in 1990. Survivors: her daughters, Linda (Pete) Hansen of Fairfax, VA, Kathleen (Jack) Procita of Marietta, Christine (Ken) Dickerson of Otisco, Jacqueline (Courtney) Tucker of Tully, Susan (Patrick) Speckman of Charlotte, NC; sons, Jimmy of Syracuse, Jeff (Patti) of Syracuse, Patrick (RoseAnn) Cain of Cicero; sister, Theresa Kogut of Fabius; 16 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Church of St. Michael & St. Peter. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Otisco. Calling hours 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral, 1921 W. Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crouse Hospital, Neonatal ICU-9 Irving, 736 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210 and Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
