Obituary of Betsy A. VanSteenburgh

Betsy Ann (Seeley) VanSteenburgh, 94, departed of this world December 5, 2013. She was born in Schenectady, NY. Betsy graduated from Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady, NY and Mildred Elley Business School of Troy, NY. She served as payroll director for the NYS Fair for 13 years and later worked for the Onondaga County Republican Committee until her retirement at age 75. Betsy was devoted to her family and loved to do crafts, crossword puzzles and play solitaire. Survivors: her 4 children, Sally (Lee) Mietz of Williamsburg, VA, G. Peter (Marcia) VanSteenburgh of Phoenix, NY, Nancy (Larry) Halloran of Camillus, NY, Cathy Anklin (Jack) Whitten of Irma, SC. 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Robert (Dorothy) Seeley of Sacramento, CA and Leonard (Patricia) Seeley of Albany, NY. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday December 10, graveside at Park View Cemetery, 40 Fehr Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday December 9, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Iroquois Nursing Home.
