Obituary of Jeanne C. (Plume) Erwin

Jeanne C. (Plume) Erwin, 79, of Fairmount passed away Friday after a short illness. Born in Syracuse she grew up on the city's north side. Before starting her family, Jeanne worked several years for Bond, Schoeneck and King. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family. For several years she worked for Walmart in the craft and fabric department and enjoyed playing bingo throughout the area. She frequently travelled throughout Europe and became fond of the Austrian and Swiss Alps. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, Walter L. and Marion Plume, and her husband of over 50 years, Richard E. Erwin in 2010. Survivors: devoted son, Richard A. Erwin; daughter, Mary (Patrick) Gaffney; grandchildren, Katie and Patrick Gaffney IV, and Sara Erwin; several nieces and nephews. Services: 9 a.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY.
