Obituary of Evelyn Anthony

Evelyn M. Anthony, of Fairmount, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born in Fairmount, graduated from Solvay High School and resided in Fairmount. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church. She was an administrative assistant to the Superintendent in the West Genesee School District retiring in 1994. Evelyn was an avid golfer and bowler and a member of Westvale Golf Course for a number of years. She was the happiest when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always felt blessed for having a close, loving family. She touched many lives and will be truly missed. Evelyn was predeceased by her childhood sweetheart and husband, Michael T. Anthony III, in 1992, her son John, her father Walter Halbe in 1975, her mother, Mary Halbe in 1983, her sister Doris Kermes in 2006, her brother-in-law, Thomas M. Anthony in 1999 and her brother-in-law, George A. Verel in 2002. Suvivors: her son, Michael M. Anthony (Deborah Hewitt) of Onondaga Hill; her twin daughters, Pamela A. Grady (Jay) of South Carolina and Deborah A. Marrs (Dana) of Florida; son Timothy J. Anthony (Cathleen Garzone and Andrew Wall) of Fairmount; her grandchildren, Megan Hollister (Brian), Jamie Anthony, Dana Marrs, Derek Marrs and Dustin Marrs; her great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ethan & Julia; sisters-in law Paula A. Verel of Solvay and Patricia E. Anthony of Redwood; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse.
