Obituary of Robert F. Reilly

Robert F. Reilly, 64, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on August 18, 2024 surrounded by his family after a two-year battle with brain cancer. Robert was born in Syracuse and graduated from West Genese High School in 1979. He worked several years at Crucible Steel Company and later on as a plumber before he retired. He was an avid New York Yankees fan as well as a SU football and basketball fan and was a member of the “Private Road” Club in Fairmount. He lived his life as a happy-go-lucky guy and had a witty, sarcastic sense of humor. He also loved to travel and spend time in New York City and Myrtle Beach.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Charles A. Reilly, Sr. and Pauline Reilly, and his brother, Charles A. Reilly, Jr.

Robert is survived by his siblings, Patricia (Patrick) Arnold, William Reilly (Katherine Turner), Michael (Pamela) Reilly, Paula Reilly (James Zoyhofski) and James Reilly, and his former sisters-in-law, Stephanie Reilly and Rosanne Reilly, all of Syracuse. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and their children.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7pm Thursday, September 5, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St., Syracuse, NY.

A private funeral service for the family will be held 11am Friday, September 6, at Our Lady of Hope Chapel at St Mary’s Cemetery and Mausoleum, 4100 E. Genesee St., Dewitt, NY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society (cancer.org) in memory of Robert.
