Obituary of Joseph A. Hubert
Joseph A. Hubert passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 18. He was the youngest of five children, born on November 23, 1937 in Syracuse. He was raised in South Onondaga, NY. Joe attended Onondaga Central and joined the United States Navy and, subsequently, the USMC where he served as a hospital corpsman. He was a longtime friend of Bill W's and was passionate about helping others in the program. Joe married Anna M (Erwin) Hubert in August of 1963 and had three children. He was a successful sales rep for Corns State, Garrett Paper, Seneca Paper, and Unisource. Joe enjoyed vacationing in Old Forge, Martha's Vineyard, Ocean City, MD, and Bermuda. He was a devout Catholic and communicant of St. Charles - St. Ann's as well as Holy Family Parishes. He supported many local food pantries and charities. He had an infectious laugh and always tried to see the brighter side of life.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Herbert Hubert and Mary (O'Hara) Hubert; his nephew Daniel Russell; his brother, Leon, his sister, Jeanette; his wife, Anna; and his daughter, Catherine.
Survivors: his sister, Madeline Hall; his brother, Herbert W. (Martha) Hubert; two sons, Joseph M. and David J. (Frederica) Hubert; one grandson, Daniel James Hubert; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be 11am to 12pm Tuesday, January 23, at Holy Family Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12pm. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
