Obituary of Elsie J. Parsons

Elsie J. (Riddell) Parsons, 100, of Westvale passed away peacefully Friday. Born in Syracuse, she lived most of her life in the Westvale area. Elsie met her husband, Sgt Major Bernard Parsons prior to WWII and they would be married for over 60 years until his passing in 2003. She retired from the Westhill School District after 32 years. She was a longtime communicant of both St. Ann's Church in Syracuse and Queen of Heaven Church in Henderson Harbor. She enjoyed nature and gardening at her camp on Cedar Drive on lake Ontario and loved her dogs.

In addition to her husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Clyde Riddell Jr.

Survivors: daughter, Sharon (William) Crocker; son, Douglas J. (Rhonda) Parsons; 7 grandchildren, Teena, Michael, Melissa, Gregory, Brandi, Shannon, and Dennis; 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Donna Fish; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services: 10am Tuesday, February 28, at St. Charles-St. Ann's Church, 501 South Orchard Rd. Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
