Joseph T. Micheletti, Sr., 99, of Solvay, passed away at St. Camillus RHCF on August 2, 2022. Joe was born in Syracuse and was a long time resident of Solvay. Joe was a communicant of St. Marianne Cope Parish-St. Cecilia’s Church.

Joe retired from Niagara Mohawk (National Grid) with over 30 years of service, working in the underground electric department. Joe was also a chef at several area restaurants, retiring from Pensabene’s Park West. Joe was a past member of Solvay Veterans, Solvay Seniors, Solvay Tigers and Kiwanis. Joe served in the Navy in WWII and Korea aboard the USS Tutuila and USS Wedderburn. Joe enjoyed watching sports, listening to music, helping family members/neighbors and working outdoors.

Joe is predeceased by his wife, Suzanne D. Micheletti; parents, Thomas and Incoronata Micheletti; and siblings, Susan Mansfield, Lucy Micheletti and Thomas Micheletti.

Joe is survived by 4 children: Steven G. (Lisa), Joseph Jr. (Christine), Mary, and Paula (Sarah); 7 grandchildren, Steven T., Christina, Matthew (Richard), Joseph III, (Jordann), Katie (Luke), Cori, Krista (Tyler); 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and cousins.

Services: 9 am Friday, August 5 at Tindall Funeral Home and 9:30 am at St. Marianne Cope - St. Cecilia's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 pm Thursday, August 4 at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Solvay Fire Department, 1925 Milton Ave., Solvay, N.Y. 13209
