Obituary of Beverley W. Campbell
Beverley W. Campbell, 82, of Westvale, passed away Sunday at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Richmond, VA, where she was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and a Liberal Arts major at Westhampton College. After her marriage she moved to Syracuse and was employed as a customer service representative at Chase Lincoln First Bank, Rothschild’s Home Health care and Preventative Medicine Associates among others. She most recently worked at and retired from JC Penney.
Beverly was a long-time member of Robinson Elmwood United Church, where she was known for her cookies and other baked treats. She served many years as a deacon. When she was not in office, she continued her service unofficially, calling shut-ins, serving at receptions, and helping in any way she could with energy and a great sense of humor. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen in 2011.
Survivors: her daughter, Laura (Douglas) Hooper of Mount Airy, MD; grandchildren, Matthew Chesky of Germantown, MD and Evan Hooper of Mount Airy, MD; sister, Marilyn Montgomery of Richmond, VA; several nieces and nephews.
Services: 12:00 noon Tuesday, June 8 at Robinson Elmwood United Church. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church from 11am to 12pm prior to the service.
