Obituary of J. Peter Mulvihill Jr.
J. Peter Mulvihill Jr, 89, of Lakeland passed away Monday at Van Duyn. Born in Norfolk, VA, he was a graduate of Oswego High School and attended SUNY Morrisville. He retired from Crucible Steel after 32 years as a design draftsman. Pete was a communicant of St. Marianne Cope Parish, serving as a commissioned minister, lector, and eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Lakeland Seniors, Holy Name Society, and Knights of Columbus Council 4114. Pete loved golfing, bowling, and playing cards.
He was predeceased by his, brother, William Mulvihill and sister, Margaret Benfeldt.
Survivors: his wife of 65 years, Betty Jane (Bullock), son, Peter (Judy) Mulvihill; granddaughter, Amanda Mulvihill of Seattle, WA; sister, Ann Vogt; several nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:30am Friday May 28, at Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will be from 9:30 to 10:30am Friday May 28, prior to the Mass at the Church, 203 Halcomb St. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland.
