Obituary of Charles John Wink
Charles John Wink, 82, of Baldwinsville, NY and St. Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully at home on April 4. He was born Curwensville, PA. As a gifted athlete, he was recruited by Syracuse University on a football scholarship and played with the 1959 Championship Football Team. He received a BA from Syracuse University, a MS from Penn State University and a D.Ed from Syracuse University. After 35 years as athletic Director and teacher he retired from the Syracuse City School District. As a US Navy veteran he volunteers at the St. Petersburg Veterans Hospital.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Irene Wink; brother, Blair Wink; and sister, Margaret Wingard.
He is survived by his wife, Joann (Sutton) Mack-Wink; sons, Richard (Diane) Wink, Timothy Wink; daughters, Amy Wink, Carey Mack (Christopher) Stewart; granddaughters, Sarah Wink, Erica (David) Metheny, Madison Stewart, Lucy Stewart, Emily Stewart; grandson, Christopher Wink; great grandson, Graham Metheny.
