I met Lou later in life while in his second career at SHA, we spent many a day filled with laughter and talks of sharing a Red Stripe on the weekend which finally happened more then once when I met my husband Robert by then it was Blue Moon for Lou!
Louie who loved photography insisted on being the photographer at our nuptials and I always believed it was so he could make sure it was really happening and his adopted work daughter was now someone else responsibility!
We later laughed in a private conversation that my suspicions were correct about his sense of relief!!!
Lou immediately became a friend to my husband and we shared many nights of Jazz Fest under the stars with he and his buddy Bob. Lou and Deb would join us at camp or us at their home for Louie's world famous Curry Chicken which I haven't been able to perfect to this day!! We eventually drifted apart in body as the years went on however never in thought and love!!
Lou your spirit will always shine bright and the memories be a joy to us!
With all our love
Robert and Cynthia Johnson

In Memory of Louis Jones,
It is with a great sense of loss that Joan and I express our sincere condolences on the passing of our friend Louis Our friendship covers decades with lots of great memories, too many to relate here so I will limit it as best I can.
I met Louis in 1960, just when we left college. We both took careers in the Life Insurance business, he at Sun Life in New Kingston and me at Jamaica Mutual Life I spent great times at his home at Woodhaven Avenue and his parents and entire family accepted me like a family member. He later became part of my family as we would travel to see my parents and siblings in Trelawny on a regular basis. We shared a lot in common – he loved his VW 1302S and I would challenge him with my red souped-up Ford Cortina GT. We shopped, ate, and had great times together even when I visited New York. I often reflect on one of my visits to New York when he brought Gwilym who was then 2 years old. from Syracuse to visit with me in Brooklyn and we had a blast.
The last time I saw Louis was when he attended his brother Carlton’s interment in Pensacola. We lived in Orlando at the time and accompanied him to the funeral after which he spent a few quality days with my wife Joan and me. In all the years we have known each other we have never had a disagreement. Over the years even though we are apart we are always in touch speaking 2 or three times each month. We would talk about his illness and he would without complaining tell me how difficult it was to deal with and assure me of his determination to beat it and he really tried. Our shared greatest regret is that a planned visit to see him in August 2019 did not materialize.
Louis was a profoundly gentle and a sober soul and I learned great lessons from our friendship and his kind, generous disposition. Even in these times of the internet Louis still loved to send handwritten cards a rare attribute He shared a wonderfully blessed and loving life with Debbie, and she should be lauded for her care of him even as she also cares for her mother – a daunting task which she handled with grace and patience. I am going to miss my dear friend Louis and will look to meet him on the beautiful shores. Rest well my friend and may you find peace on Abrahams's bosom and in the company of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Debbie,
I'm going to try this again. When this first came out I sat and said what was in my heart. The first thought that came to mind was gentleness because when I think of Louie the first thought is that of one who is a perfect gentleman. When you spent any time with Louie you came away better. We were in a prayer group together and all who were part of it came away better.
His wife completed this wonder-filled partnership, Louie will be so dearly missed by all. Let us be gentle and kind as Louie always did, so he will always be at our side. Debbie will always be with us.
My Love,
Sister Helen

Dear Debbie,
Harry and I were delighted to witness the great love you and Louis have shared throughout the years. Your deep love for Louis was visible to the others even in the loving care you were taking of him since he got sick till the end of his life journey. To me personally Louis was not just a brother in law. He was a man with a big and warm heart. I will always remember a very special moment of my life. It was at our wedding reception, while Louis was walking me to Harry, he very quietly said to me: "I am sure my father would have liked you very much as a daughter in law." This was Louis's unique way of welcoming me to the Jones family. And I will always be grateful for the chance to be his sister in law. We all were blessed to have him in our lives. Louis always will be remembered with love and affection.
Dear Debbie, you've lost your husband, but his love for you is still there with you. It remains within you, in your memories of every loving moment you both have shared. Harry and I are holding you in our hearts.

Louis will always hold a special place in our hearts as a wonderful, warm, kind man and a dear friend that made legendary Jamaican Rum Punch! He exuded patience and calm; the last few years must have been a terrible trial for him. To Debbie and family... we share your heartache at losing such a fine human and gentle man. Our prayers are with you all
