Obituary of Rose M. Fumich
Born on February 2, 1922 to Frank and Frances Fumich, Rose grew up on the west side of Syracuse and graduated from St. Lucy’s. She remained in Syracuse for her entire life and was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church.
She retired as a supervisor with the Hartford Insurance Company. She loved Syracuse sports and was a long-time season ticket holder for football and basketball. Her biggest thrill was going to a Syracuse bowl game in Tampa.
Rose was fiercely devoted to her large immediate and extended family and was a caregiver for her mother for several years. She took great pride in keeping up her property and being able to live independently in her home into her 90s.
Rose is predeceased by her parents and her 10 siblings.
She is survived by her nephews, John McMahon, James (Rosalie) McMahon, Robert Foley, Michael Zipprich, and William (Bonnie) Zipprich; and their families. The family would like to thank the staff at The Centers at St. Camillus for caring for Rose for the past few years.
Services: A private burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in DeWitt. A memorial service will be planned when it’s safe to do so.
