James P. Cheevers, 80, of Solvay passed away Friday. Born in Syracuse he was a US Navy veteran. He was a longtime letter carrier with the USPS retiring in 1987.
Survivors: his wife of 55 years, Virginia M. (McClusky) Cheevers; daughter, Debbie Ball of Clifton Park; granddaughters, Michelle (Zach) Feinberg, Jennifer (Sean) Reilly; great granddaughter, Guilianna; several in laws, nieces and nephews.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
