I started working in 2014 at the Diocese of Syracuse and was so lucky to have met Mary. Even after her retirement she frequented the halls of the Chancery and always stopped in my office to say hello. She would say "Christine! I saw you on Facebook this morning!". Just the sweetest, kindest woman who will be missed greatly. May she rest in God's eternal peace and may perpetual light shine upon her. Prayers for peace and comfort. May her memory be a warm one to all who love her.

Dear Ed and Tom,
I was so saddened to hear of your mothers passing. She was always upbeat, witty and smart. I always thought that to be a working woman in that time was a significant accomplishment. I remember her kind hospitality when we visited. She was my Godmother and I was lucky to have her. I never realized how accomplished she was.

Dear Ed and Tom,
I have many wonderful memories of your mother. Our last in-person visit was in late January. She reminisced with my mom (Florence Schuelke) about their childhood, as they were close friends all their lives. We talked on the phone in March, a few days after her birthday. She was in my parents’ wedding and my godmother. I treasure a book of prayers for new mothers that she sent me when I was expecting my first child 28 years ago. I remember that your mom always seemed joyful, and we both have a love of reading. I share your sense of loss, but know that as a woman of great faith, she is in heaven.

Dear Family,
I met Mary back in 1978 while I was working for Bob McAuliffe who was the attorney for the Diocese. We would meet in the library and always shared our love for books. When I moved on from law, I still kept in touch with Mary. I ended up working at Catholic Charities for a while, where it was my pleasure to continue to interact with Mary. She was kind, loving, and fun. She had a sparkling personality, and we had been trying to plan lunch together when this pandemic hit. We spoke at least once, but I had no idea she was ill. I am glad she was taken care of at Francis House, as I was affiliated with them when I worked at Hospice. I hope she was in comfort and at peace. I am sure God will welcome her into Heaven with open arms!
