Obituary of Agnes V. Komrowski

Agnes V. Komrowski, 98, passed away March 26, 2020. Born February 6, 1922 to the late Joseph and Mary (Klodzen) Pitoniak. Agnes attended Solvay High School and grew up on State Fair Blvd in Lakeland, NY. She was married to her high school sweetheart the late Harry T. Komrowski (d.2015) for 73 years. They raised their family in Fairmount, NY where they stayed until 1980; then moved to West Monroe, NY and participated in several Veterans organizations.
Agnes was an active member of the Fairmount Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over 25 years and a communicant at Holy Family Church in Fairmount. She was also active as an adult leader in Cub Scouts, Campfire Girls and Girl Scouts for many years. She gifted many people with a variety of craftworks including crocheting, sewing, painting, pottery and knitting. Her resourcefulness was also remarkable in the frequent canning of fruits, vegetables and jellies.
Agnes and her husband Harry initiated many family outings with their extended family and 6 children (Harry (Karen d.2019), Robert, Marie Rooney d.2017 (Daniel), Nancy Scroggins (James), Joanne Blasiak (John), Paul (Susan)). Agnes was a devoted wife and companion with Harry. They traveled together to many of the states including Arizona, Alaska, Maine, Texas, New Mexico, Hawaii and Florida. She was recognized by all as an ardently strong, loving supporter of all her children, an empathetic listener and a kind-spirited woman who was thankful to everyone she met.
Siblings: John Pitoniak d.2004 (Dottie d.1997), Mary Donaghey d.1988 (Matthew d.2002), Joseph d.2003 (Florence), Frank Pitoniak d.2007 (Carrie d.2018), Steven Pitoniak (Betty d.1996) 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to The St. Luke Family of Caring, 299 E River Rd in Oswego NY. A special thanks to the staff members at Bishop Commons and St. Luke Health Services who provided excellent assisted living and nursing care for Agnes in her final years.
Private burial services were arranged through Tindall Funeral Home in Syracuse, NY. A Catholic Memorial Mass and grave consecration will be held at a later time after pandemic restrictions are lifted.
