Obituary of Mary B. Kwasigroch
Mary B. (Baratta) Kwasigroch, 99, of Fairmount passed away on Monday at St. Camillus. She was born in Syracuse, and was the last surviving child of Carmine and Mary Baratta (her soulmate). Mary worked in Solvay during her younger years. Later on, she became a babysitter for two wonderful families. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward, her parents, five brothers, Michael, Anthony, Joseph, Carmine, and Nicholas, and three sisters, Jennie Palange, Angela Baratta, and Rose Papaleoni.
Mary was a loving wife to Edward, with whom she celebrated 74 years of marriage, before his death in 2016.
Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and John Simiele and their children Mary Beth (Kirk) Hammond, Linda Simiele and Dick, and Karen (John) Tobin. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, her great grandchildren, Eric, Emily, and Kevin Hammond, Ashlyn Feneck, and Ryan Tobin. Mary also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Mary and Edward were loving godparents to many children of family members and friends.
Mary's kindness and sweetness were appreciated by those she met at St. Camillus. That kindness was always evident throughout her life. She always took care of others, before herself.
Let's not forget how much she loved going to Turning Stone. And, yes, she did have a favorite machine.
