Obituary of David Leon Smith
David Leon Smith, 58, of Northbrook, IL, left this earthly world, March 19, 2018. Dave grew up in Camillus, NY the youngest of 3. He graduated from West Genesee High School and then left on an adventure of a lifetime, hitchhiking across the country. He eventually landed at Arizona State University, where he met his wife, Kim. After graduation, he worked his way up to VP at Chase Manhattan Bank, was a small business owner and for a time a stay at home dad. He was a huge animal lover and was looking forward to being reunited with his pups at rainbow bridge. He was an active member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and a proud certified member of Illinois Search and Rescue (ISAR). He was an avid Trump supporter and spirited deplorable.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kim (nee Poll); his beloved children, Cody (Emily) and Katlyn. 2 grandsons, Aiden Michael and brand new arrival Logan David William. His mother, Margaret (Robert) Schnurr; sister, Sheila (Walt) Quinell and brother Thomas Smith. Nieces, Danielle and Chelsea; nephews, Christopher and Ryan. Proceeded in death by his father Thomas (Jean) Smith.
Dave requested no services be held. In lieu of this he requested you kindly donate to Northshore Hospice, Northshore Kellogg Cancer Centers (@Northshore.Org/Donate) or the animal shelter of your choice.
