Martin "Marty" Chemotti

Martin "Marty" Chemotti, 81, a life resident of Solvay passed away at home unexpectedly. He was employed at General Electric for 44 years before retiring in 1993. He loved fishing and vacationing in the Thousand Islands. He also loved to play the harmonica. In his younger days, he was an avid bowler. He was the head usher at the 12:15 p.m. Sunday Mass at Holy Family Church. Most importantly, he loved his family. He was predeceased by his parents, Gilio and Anna Chemotti, a brother, Leno Chemotti, and his beloved wife, Betty (Stanton) Chemotti.
Survivors: three daughters, Charlene (Steve) Peil of Cicero, Karie (John) Butler of Camillus, Bettyann (John) Sullivan of Baldwinsville; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Ed (Anita) Chemotti, Aldo (Janet) Chemotti, two sisters, Olive (Sam) Staiano, Geraldine Chemotti, and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. A calling hour will be 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Tindall Funeral home 1921 W. Genesee St. prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
