Melbourne "Red" Raymond Jr., 95, husband of Viola Clark Raymond, passed away on May 14, 2012. He was born on Novemeber 18, 1916 in Solvay, NY. After his marriage he and Viola lived in Fairmount where he started his business, Raymond's Painting, Decorating and Contracting. He was active in the Masonic Temple (Sapphire Lodge), the Shriners, and in youth activities while his children were at home. He was an early member of the board of directors for Fairmount Union Church. He and Viola enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music, and sharing a beer with family and his many friends. He was predeceased by his brother Richard who died serving in WWII, and later his brother Philip. Survivors: his wife of 78 years, Viola Clark Raymond; his children, Shirley (Donald) Hausner, Ronald (Kathleen) Raymond, Kathleen (Everett) Burchell, Allen (June) Raymond; sister, Cora "Corky" Avery; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to PACE CNY, 100 Malta Lane N.
