Mrs. Rood was my 4th grade teacher in the early 1960s. I have never forgotten her and often wondered about her over the years. She was a wonderful teacher who had patience for all of the students. I remember that she never raised her voice. Just a look from her and everyone settled down. I was very fortunate to have Mrs. Rood as my teacher.

I was privileged to have Mrs. Rood as my 4th grade teacher, the year before she retired. I will always be grateful to her to her kind, gentle and caring attitude. She was truly remarkable. I did get to see her over the years when she played bridge with my mother. My life is better for having been one of her students.

To the entire Rood Family: Carrie will always be remembered with great fondness as we reflect on former family holidays and fun times with her in the Adirondacks. She was greatly admired and always conducted herself with style and grace. We will certainly miss her.

Mrs. Rood was my 4th grade teacher in 1971 and I adored her. She had such a sense of style that I couldn't wait to see which one of her fabulous outfits (with matching shoes, of course) that she would be wearing! I've mentioned her name hundreds of times in my life because of the most lasting gift that she gave to me . . . you see, I had the worst handwriting and she worked with me EVERY day to perfect my Palmer Method of cursive writing because in her words, "You'll do better in school if the teacher can read your writing and if you have beautiful handwriting people will remember you." She was right. My "signature" handwriting is all because of her willingness to extend herself and make a difference in my life. I will NEVER forget her.

Such wonderful memories of the sweetest lady, especially those of our many vacations at the farm with our combined families, playing Pitch and Rummy 500. We will always remember Grandma Rood with love and affection. Rest in Peace.

I had Mrs. Rood for fourth grade during the 1965-1966 school year. I remember her as a kind, gentle, caring teacher who was connected with her students and very concerned with our "getting it." Many years have passed, and while I do not remember the names of most of my past teachers, I will always remember her. My prayers, thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to her family. May God comfort you in your time of sorrow.
