Obituary of Helen I. DeMong

Helen I. Cole DeMong, 89, of Syracuse passed away Saturday after a brief illness at Community General Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Blodgett High School. Helen retired in 1983 from the NYS Department of Labor. She was a member of the Western Hills Senior Group and was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church. For many years she enjoyed the family camp in Henderson Harbor. She was predeceased by her husband William J. DeMong in 1999.
Survivors: her daughter, Carol A. DeMong; her son, David W. (Christine) DeMong; brother, George (Peg) Cole; grandchildren, Patrick and Phillip Vescio, William and Kathleen DeMong; several nieces and nephews.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 417 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., PO Box 7, E. Syracuse, NY 13057
