Chester J. Warzecha, 82, of Syracuse passed away Monday, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse, he was a three star athlete and a 1945 graduate of Vocational High School. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. Chet graduated from LeMoyne in 1952 and was an all star pitcher. Chet worked for the Carrier Corp. for over 30 years. He was a member of the VFW, Solvay Geddes Vets, Carrier Retirees Association, and was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church.
Survivors: his wife of 54 years, the former Rose Palermo; his son, Thomas Warzecha; his sister, Helen Sawka; several nieces and nephews.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes. Calling hour will be from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church, 417 S. Orchard Rd., prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088
