Lawrence G. Allen, Sr.

Lawrence G. Allen, Sr., 60, of Syracuse passed away Friday. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of Westhill High School. Larry attended LeMoyne College, Cornell University and graduated with his MBA from Columbia College. He retired from New Process Gear in March of 2008. He was an active Civil War re-enactor and had formerly been a Mason. He enjoyed traveling and visiting historical sites.
Survivors: son, SSG Lawrence (Nicole) G. Allen Jr. of Columbus, GA; daughter, Kristen Burney (CPT Justin Burney USAF), of Ocala, FL; son, CW2 Erich (Miriam) Allen, of Nuremburg, Germany; grandchildren, Connor and Nicolas Giurbino, and Tabatha Allen; sisters, Robin Allen and Mary Allen; brothers, Douglas and Harold "Ray" Allen; several nieces and nephews.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Ave. Burial will follow in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Calling hours, 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St.
