Planning a funeral can be a difficult process, and there is no way you can prepare for it. At times, it can be overwhelming and pretty stressful as well. The better prepared you are, the easier it will be for you to organize the funeral arrangements.

Funerals can prove to be quite chaotic with family and close friends visiting- there are quite a few responsibilities that you will carry on your shoulders. This can make it difficult for you to keep things on track.

Steps to Follow

The First Steps: It can be hard to deal with the death of a loved one, but it is also important to keep a few steps in mind while planning the funeral. Contact family members and inform them about the death. Contact the deceased person’s workplace and let them know as well.

Have a fixed budget for the funeral service. Decide on whether the body will be buried or cremated. Follow all the religious and cultural needs of the departed. And most important of all, find the perfect funeral home.

Final Disposition Planning: Post-service, you have the option to conduct a ceremony or go to the cemetery. The committal service is conducted at the cemetery. It lasts for about 15-20 minutes where family members can pay their respects to the departed.

If the decedent is going to be buried, the casket will be lowered into the grave. In case of a cremation, the family have the option to put the urn in the grave or in a columbarium.

You can get all this information from our funeral director as well. This will help ensure that the funeral planning is done well and that the event runs smoothly. For more information, call Tindall Funeral Home at (315) 468-5521 or use our online form to submit a question.
